  • 11/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (7-8 large lemons).*
  • 7 cups water, divided
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 mug with loosely wrapped leaves

  1. The lemons should be mashed. In a large pitcher, add the lemon juice and 6 cups of cold water.

  2. Combine the sugar, 1 cup of warm water, and mint leaves in a blender. Blend the ingredients until well combined.

  3. The mixture should be strained through a fine mesh strainer and placed in a bowl. Next, strain the mixture through a strainer and into a pitcher. Add the lemon juice. Double straining is a good way to get rid of any sediment from the top. )

  4. Ice the pitcher. To get the best mint flavour, garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves. You can either serve immediately, or keep it refrigerated up to three days.
