Ingredients
- 1 Bottle Rose Wine
- 1 jalapeno pepper
- Ice cubes
Editor’s Tip:
A non-alcoholic rose wine is a good choice for an alternative to boozy drinks.
Directions
- To make three rings, cut a jalapeno horizontally.
- Place jalapeno rings in a wine glass.
- Place 1 glass of rose wine in the glass. Add a few ice cubes to your chilled wine. Even wine can be frozen to create ice cubes without diluting it.
This is What I Thought
Jalapenos are a little too hot for me, but spicy rose has won my heart. The heat was not there at first. It was more in my aftertaste that the drink itself. The heat was too low so I turned it up. The jalapeno flavor would infuse the rose. I put my drink in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. It was worth spending a bit more time with the drink to give it an upgrade. The rose I drank had a pleasant buzz from the jalapenos throughout the whole glass. It also gave me a bright vegetal taste that enhanced the wine’s flavor and reduced some of its sweetness. Preparing this beverage ahead of time is key to allowing the flavors to meld. [cf]skyword_tracking_tag[/cf]
